Intimate Wedding at the Board of Trade
/The Board of Trade never disappoints. What a spectacular location for an outside wedding! Their courtyard has such a charming, dreamlike quality when you walk in— it hardly takes any flowers to push this venue over the top. We love highlighting their fountain with giant set pieces. It’s a perfect focal point and the architecture is classic New Orleans dreamy. Look here if you’re planning a wedding at the Board of Trade, or like the look of Muriel and Alex’s blushy-chic orange flowers. I’ve been over-the-moon excited about this wedding, and I’m so happy with how the photos came out. You’re going to love these pictures. Thanks so much to Muriel and Alex for letting us be a part of your special day!
Muriel is such a gem— funny, sincere, and such a joy to be around. From the first day I met her she had a crystal clear vision of what she wanted in a wedding, and a firm grasp on the budget she had to work with, but those things don’t always go hand in hand! Luckily we’re experts at making things big and beautiful no matter how extravagant your budget might be. Walking Muriel through my warehouse was such a hoot. She’d make a bee-line for all the prettiest things, then look at me to see with big hopeful eyes to see if they would work in her budget. “We can make anything work,” Is exactly what I said, and I’m so happy with how things turned out.
But alas, unbeknownst to everyone Muriel’s wedding was set to take place smack-dab in the middle of COVID season, and the beautiful wedding planned we’d for Tomas Bistro was pushed to next year.
But love never waits as they say, and neither could Muriel and Alex! Rather than waiting and waiting for their old wedding plan to work with COVID, they decided to rework the whole thing, and make a wedding that could take place right this minute! An intimate wedding with twenty three guests at the Board of Trade was the perfect answer.
This was another wedding planned and organized by my favorite gal to work with, Becky Lampp at Spanish Oak Events. Even though the guest list was small, the celebration came out big, big, big, and Becky did a phenomenal job as always pulling all the details together.
Ambiance is everything. Can’t you just hear a classic wedding prelude filling up the evening air as Muriel came down the aisle? New Orleans Classical and Jazz provided the violinist. Her playing was the perfect extra touch for Muriel and Alex’s seated dinner. Pigeon Caterers handled all the food, and I heard they did a wonderful job!
I love the little wedding cake. There’s something so harmonious and elegant about this single tier, adorned with gorgeous warm white spray roses with peach accents— except those aren’t actually my flowers! This cake arrived just like this, picture perfect as always from Chez Pierre. everything you see here are sugar flowers, I take no credit for decorating this stylish gem.
Can you believe this is an August bouquet? Peonies, dahlias, garden roses thrown together for maximum pop! See the subtle golden accents? Sometimes pretty things are just dying to go together! All of these flowers came from our local flower co-op Louisiana Wholesale, and they were fresh and lush as can be.
My thanks to Mike Lirette— the talented photographer who shared this day with me and you, and Heather at Flawless Bride who makes everyone look good, and feel good too— she is really a special soul.
