It has been an honor to be a part of small weddings this year— Love that can’t wait— “Love that says Lets get married right now.”

I also think that this trend is here to stay. These events are more luxurious, more curated, and more intimate than a lot of the 300-seaters we’ve done, and what’s not to love about that I’ll continue to add to this blog as I get photos back from these special, smaller-scale events.

My first wedding back to work was this lovely pair— Po her husband Collin. She dressed at his family home, a short drive to a gem of a church, St Martin Episcopal Church on Metairie Road. (their doors were done by New Orleans artist Enrique Alferez and are totally worth a drive by. I know I have raved about them before, but they stopped me in my tracks!) Because her family was unable to attend internationally, she video streamed the ceremony with our friends at Your Day Productions. Brilliant.

As the bonus Mom, weddings can be tricky! I want to be helpful, but not overstep - but lets be honest, I bring a little something to the party! Chelsea was super easy, she picked her colors, I showed her a few photos, and she let me do my thing. She was the dream bride! Aren’t they are so beautiful together!

What an honor for Tom to officiate his daughter’s wedding! We were all a little nervous that he would choke up, but with such an intimate gathering, we were among friends. It was so much fun!

Nothing could have been more special for us than Tom’s daughter Chelsea’s wedding in August. An intimate wedding for ten guests in Chelsea and Brad’s home town of Charlotte (we travel only for those we love), we will party on with a reception in 2022. I It was truly magic.

A special thanks to my friend Margaret at Giverny Design for helping me with flowers and lending moral support. Flowers are more fun with friends!

Carissa and Michael had planned a big wedding back home, and decided to wait on the big party until next year, and have an intimate wedding for twelve guests here in New Orleans. Sidestepping a hurricane, this couple had to go to Baton Rouge for their marriage license (New Orleans had no electricity!). Intimate did not mean casual, from a ceremony at the Pharmacy Museum and brunch at Brennan’s, to a second line to the hotel, all the details were perfect. The video was added on at the last minute - they wanted to live stream the ceremony for friends and family and LaVina at Your Day Production was happy to accommodate them. A true elopement at the magnificent Hotel Peter and Paul, this is Andi and Gage.

I got a call from their friend Allison the week of the wedding, asking if I could put together something unusual and fun, that could be a vase arrangement and a bouquet - in case the bride had not ordered a bouquet - how sweet! Just the two of them and an officiant - and a photographer/witness!
