Aloha New Orleans! A taste of Hawaii
/Taylor and Connor live in Hawaii so even though they wanted their guests to enjoy our famous New Orleans hospitality, they wanted to have a little island fun also.
So choosing a venue for their welcome dinner was easy - the historic Napoleon House. Now part of the Ralph Brennan Restaurant Group, the Napoleon House feels like New Orleans from the private entrance down a funky hallway and the lush courtyard space to the wonderful architecture of the private event space with dramatic ceilings, floor to ceiling windows and fireplaces in every room.
Taylor wanted a dramatic tropical flower crown to match her party ensemble, and we were all in. I love a flower crown, and we do lots of dainty ones for flower girls, but I have the most fun with a big dramatic piece!
With a welcome party like that, you know the wedding is going to be amazing - right?
Enter Hotel Peter and Paul a beautiful event space in an old church space, guestrooms in the school, and a bar in the parrish house, this space is historic, modern and oh so chic. Taylor was keeping thing simple, just the bride and groom for the ceremony - but that doesn’t mean she was not surrounded by her squad.
Taylor and Conner had a vision of a ceremony in the round - and Firefly Ambiance created this stage just for them as well as providing the chairs, tables and other candle decor.
I love a room shot before the guests arrive. I try to take a moment before I leave a wedding site to close my eyes and take a breath and see it as the bride and groom will.
A quick flip with a master team - Firefly - Pigeon Catering and the fab staff from Emily Sullivan Events, and voila, a glorious reception begins.
Emily Sullivan Events is the star of this show. Taylor arrived with fabulous ideas and inspiration and Emily worked her magic to make the dream a reality. Many thanks to Sophie Berard for fab photos, without you, did it even happen?
