A winter wedding in New Orleans is special. The average daytime temperature in New Orleans is 65 degrees - no need to bring your parka, and there are only six days of rain on average - so perfect weather!

If your wedding is a destination, it is a great time for traveling. The crowds are smaller, the city is decorated in it’s holiday best, and there are great free events to enjoy with your family and guests including:

  • A Christmas Parade ( a maybe for 2020 . . .)

  • Caroling in Jackson Square

  • A driving tour of Christmas Lights in City Park, synced with a local radio station for Christmas carols

  • A Christmas Walking Tour in the French Quarter

  • The Messiah by the New Orleans Symphony Chorus

Here’s an arrangement from a holiday party last year - just to show ya’ll what’s on trend.

The BEST Part of New Orleans in the winter is that venues are all dressed up! The venues all have their holiday best in place, and that is a great place to start with wedding decor. City Park is covered in lights! The Roosevelt and the Royal Sonesta have over the top installations! Everything has a little more magic.

Foliage and textures are on point. We have been doing glorious large bouquets of mixed foliage, and there are lots of great textures that can be incorporated for holiday.

I love a blue holiday wedding, just add a little velvet for a perfect look.

What could be more lovely than seasonal silver foliage with all the beautiful white flowers - casa blanca lilies, peonies, garden roses and tulips, with just a hint of cedar. Winter perfection!

I try to work with seasonal flowers. They are at their peak of size and beauty and they are well priced. Get the details on my favorite flowers and foliage for winter.
