Alex and Alyssa's Australian-Inspired Wedding

The moment she walked thru the door Alyssa had clear vision for her wedding day. A fabulous ballgown, that surprised even her, vibrant funky colors and lots of texture greens. Of course, she had me at Marigny Opera House - a magnificent New Orleans church turn event space. Working there is a dream! If you don’t get invited to a wedding there - no worries, they host wonderful art performance events as well.

Gabrielle Hail Photography captured the beautiful day - Alex and Alyssa had their first look on the roof of their reception venue - Capulet Bywater.

Alex is a native Austrialian, so we tucked a few touches of eucalyptis and kangaroo paw where we could.

Alyssa was looking for a color-blocked bouquet with lots of variety in the flower selection and trailing ribbon with a dramatic shape. Very chic!

Without a wedding party, we decided to let the dramatic architecture of the space speak for itself. We made just a hint of an arch to draw our happy couple together.

A bit of a costume change for the reception, we are dancing - and of course - cake!

Funky textures ensure the guests see something special at each place setting.

I love the play of the deep moody tones and textures on these great farm tables.

Well on their way to happily ever after! We are delighted to be a part of their story. We are grateful for the talent of My House Social, they always make us look good, and the night go smoothly!
